I am pleased to announce a new series of 15 classes for the fall of 2012. Classes meet once a week. Children's classes meet for two hours, adults for three hours. There are additional workshop times provided for adults to practice.

At the studio we will explore the many possiblities of working with clay. Instruction is based on the needs of individual students. Classes are small and consist of students of all levels of expertise.

For some we will work on basic techniques of handbuilding or throwing on the wheel. Others with more experiance will develop and refine their skills, explore expressing ideas and feelings in their work. Students will work with stoneware clay, glazes, slips and stains. Adults will prepare glazes.

There will be demonstrations, discussions of other artists and historical works. We will consider issues of form, aesthetics and meaning in our work.

Practice workshop schedule for adults, if a student takes responsibility for opening and closing the studio (occasionally workshop times may be pre-empted by other studio activities): Tuesdays 7 - 10 PM
Saturdays 3 PM - 6 PM
Sundays 11 AM - 2 PM

Adults should have their own tools. Basic tools may be purchased at the studio. Clay and glazes are included in the cost of the class. Adults should bring a towel, a notebook and a pen to class.

The cost of the classes are $405 for children and $575 for adults-Adults pay additionally for firing their work at $.04 per cubic inch.

A non-refundable deposit of $50 or full payment will hold a place for you. Full payment is required by the first class, unless special arrangements are made with me. All classes are subject to change or cancellation.
